Stephen Aaron Root (born November 17, 1951) is a voice actor on King of the Hill. He provides the voice of Bill Dauterive, Buck Strickland, and other minor characters.
Root also has appeared in the live action films Office Space and Idiocracy, both written and directed by King of the Hill co-creator Mike Judge.

- Root originally auditioned for the role of Dale Gribble, but he later stated that "it didn't feel right". The role was eventually given to Johnny Hardwick.[1]
