Dr. Tim Rast is a therapist who makes brief appearances in "Queasy Rider". He is the Gribbles' marriage therapist.

History[]

In season 7, Peggy has issues with Hank's control of their schedule. When Hank tells the guys about this, Dale recommends he see his own marriage counselor, Dr. Tim Rast. The couple schedule an appointment, and as they arrive, Dale and Nancy are having a session with Dr. Rast. He shows them a metaphorical treasure map to their happiness, which Dale interprets as a literal treasure map and snatches it from Rast's hands. As Dale exits the room and sees Hank, he swallows the paper and flees the building, and Nancy tells the Hills that Dr. Rast does a good job.

When the Hills start their session, Peggy tells the doctor she will be taking her own notes, which annoys Dr. Rast. Peggy tells him about Hank refusing to do activities that she wants to do and controlling their time spent together. Hank, thinking that Dr. Rast will side with him since Dale told him so, is glad to hear Dr. Rast recommending that he should continue his plans to attend a football game. A few seconds later though, Rast reveals he was being sarcastic and says Hank's attitude is selfish. Hank tries to leave, but Peggy reminds him that visiting Dr. Rast was his idea.

Dr. Rast has them play a "magic wand" game, and he eventually recommends that Peggy and Hank use their savings they have to buy one motorcycle they can share instead of two motorcycles as originally planned. Rast also tells them they could spend their savings on more marriage counseling sessions, but Peggy and Hank decide to buy the one motorcycle instead.

Later, Rast hosts a session with another couple, and he draws another metaphorical treasure map. As he prepares it, Dale jumps out from behind his seat and grabs the map so that he can find more treasure, confusing Dr. Rast.
