Deirdre "Didi" Hill (Born September 29, 1958) is Cotton Hill's second wife.

Relationship with Cotton

She and Cotton met when she was a candy-striper at the hospital Cotton attended to have his shins drained. He fell in love with her when she knocked over a glass and bent down to pick up the tongue depressers inside of it. The glass was turned in Cotton's direction making her butt look huge. He proposed to her shortly afterwards until a few months later, Cotton in Shins of the Father gave Didi breast implants to make her look more endowed as Cotton calls them her "tatas". She is soft-spoken and often appears very tired.

Cotton generally treated her like a maid; she performed all the household chores for him, and he often verbally abused her, causing her to be very timid. It was revealed in "Next of Shin" that Cotton had gotten her pregnant. Initially, Cotton decided he didn't want another child so he ran away to Las Vegas. Hank convinced Cotton to return to her. During Hank and Peggy's 20th anniversary, Cotton and Didi agreed to look after Bobby. He believed it would be a fun trip, but Cotton explained that Didi was too heavily pregnant to perform household chores, so he made Bobby do them. Later, Didi's water breaks while Cotton and his friend Topsy are at a strip club, so 13-year-old Bobby must drive her to the hospital, then be her birthing partner. She delivers a son whom Cotton names Good Hank, but she suffers postpartum depression and wants nothing to do with him. After mother and newborn are released from the hospital, Bobby is the only one willing to take care of "G.H.", as Peggy's in a full-body cast following a skydiving accident. When Bobby tires of babysitting, he hands the baby to Didi; when she's unable to stop his crying, she hands him to the disabled Peggy--who calms him by rocking his carrier with the only part of her body she can move: her big toe. Didi takes parenting classes and gets better at taking care of her own child. Her voice and character seem to be modeled on Carol Wayne.

After Cotton's death

Cotton died in "Death Picks Cotton." Didi did not appear in the episode, and was not seen again until the Season 13 episode "Serves Me Right for Giving General George S. Patton the Bathroom Key," where she reveals that she is getting married to a wealthy professional wrestler.

Relationship with Other Characters

It is mentioned in Shins of the Father that Hank and Didi were in the same kindergarten classroom. She also says that when other children used finger-paints in kindergarten, Hank would pinch them.
