Ann Richards (September 1, 1933 - September 13, 2006) was the 45th governor of Texas, who was in office from 1991 - 1995.
Her first mention/appearance was in "Hank's Got the Willies" when Hank called Peggy to say he was at a BBQ at Willie Nelson's house and that she should come too. Peggy, not believing him, sarcastically says, "Gee, I'd love to come Hank, but Ann Richards and I are doing our toenails." Then Willie Nelson gets on the phone and says, "I don't think so Peggy. I'm lookin' at Ann Richards right now, and she's playin' tether-ball with one of my roadies." Later, in the closing credits, you see Ann Richards beating a man at tether-ball while Hank and Willie play guitar in the foreground. However, she did not have an actual speaking part in this episode.
She also appeared in the episode "Hank and the Great Glass Elevator" (with a speaking part this time voiced by herself), where she and Bill Dauterive had a brief relationship before it ended after Bill unsuccessfully tried to juggle between her and his ex-wife Lenore Dauterive. Despite this, she wished him well and convinced him not to go back to Lenore.
